Laminated glass, composed of two layers of glass, is the simplest type of laminated glass. It possesses the following four main functions:
1. Safety: Upon impact, the elastic interlayer absorbs the impact, preventing penetration. Even if the glass breaks, it only produces fine, spiderweb-like cracks. The fragments adhere firmly to the interlayer, preventing them from scattering and causing injury, and the glass can continue to be used until replacement.
2. Burglarproof Properties: Laminated glass is extremely durable. Even if a thief breaks the glass, the interlayer remains firmly bonded to the glass, maintaining its integrity and preventing entry. Installing laminated glass eliminates the need for railings, saving money, improving aesthetics, and reducing the feeling of being trapped.
3. Sound Insulation: Due to the damping function of the PVB interlayer, laminated glass effectively suppresses noise transmission. The sound insulation effect is particularly noticeable in buildings located near airports, train stations, busy urban areas, and roadsides. 4. UV protection performance: PVB interlayer film can absorb more than 99% of ultraviolet rays, thus protecting indoor furniture, plastic products, textiles, carpets, artworks, ancient artifacts or commodities from fading and aging caused by ultraviolet radiation.
